How Libraries can help with your New Year Resolutions (Part 1of 4)

There are plenty of resolutions out there but some always seem to make the list. And believe it or not Libraries can provide great support in your efforts.

#1 Be Healthy/Get Fit/Lose Weight –

Always a popular resolution after the holiday excesses. Yes, you could pick up a diet book of some sort at the library. But better still, how about learning more about nutrition in general? Have your tried tracking how many fruits and vegetables a day you are eating? (Hint it should be about 5 or so). There are also a number of free support groups online (Google “weight loss challenge” or “weight loss programs free online”) to review a variety of programs and support groups.

I would also encourage the following to help achieve your fitness goal:
Walk to the library – you are burning calories. (You have my permission to drive if it is below 0 degrees Fahrenheit).
Load up on good books to read – carrying stacks of books help build muscles.
And of course the most effective – pick up a book – not the cookie!
